About The Position

As an Assistant Project Superintendent, you'll support the Project Superintendent in delivering safe, high-quality, and efficiently managed construction projects. This role offers hands-on field experience while helping coordinate daily jobsite operations, monitor progress, maintain quality standards, and support project schedules. You'll work closely with craft workers, subcontractors, project managers, and field leaders to ensure successful project execution while building the skills needed for a long-term career in construction leadership.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or enrolled in a Construction Co-op program.
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and field operations.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with field teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction technology platforms is preferred.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned jobsites within the region.
Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow into future field leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

Support daily field operations by coordinating workforce needs, work sequencing, materials, and equipment requirements.
Provide guidance and direction to craft workers to promote productivity, collaboration, and clear communication.
Assist with jobsite logistics, subcontractor coordination, and schedule execution to keep projects moving forward.
Participate in subcontractor, owner, architect, and contractor meetings to stay aligned on project priorities and upcoming work.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Review shop drawings, submittmits, and installation requirements to support accurate field execution.
Conduct quality walkthroughs, identify deficiencies, and assist in resolving issues.
Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and field documentation.
Support project closeout activities, including punch list completion, inspections, and documentation.
Promote a positive jobsite culture centered on teamwork, communication, and O-A-K values.
Champion jobsite safety through daily reinforcement of safe work practices, PPE compliance, and hazard awareness.
Assist with safety inspections, hazard identification, corrective actions, and procurement of safety-related materials and equipment.
Collaborate closely with project management, field engineering, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Communicate project risks, schedule impacts, and field challenges to project leadership.
Help identify and resolve potential issues involving site conditions, material delays, or scheduling conflicts.
Support documentation efforts to maintain alignment between project scope, schedule, cost, and field conditions.
