About The Position

This position works under the immediate supervision of and closely with the Water Production Superintendent and assumes the duties of the superintendent in his/her absence. The role requires a strong background in surface water treatment plant operation, troubleshooting and repair, leadership capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, experience in major project oversight, and the ability to work with considerable independence and latitude. The individual should have a desire to learn all aspects of the division's operation and participate in emergency response as needed. Other duties as required will be performed. Requirements

• Considerable knowledge of methods and techniques used in drinking water treatment.
• Considerable knowledge of federal and state (Texas) drinking water rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of industrial safety procedures including safe handling of chlorine.
• Skill in operating a municipal surface water plant.
• Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• TCEQ Class B Surface Water License required or ability to obtain in 12 months.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible work in the supervision of municipal drinking water plant.
• Ability to obtain a TCEQ Class B Surface Water License within 12 months.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate degree in science or engineering preferred.

Responsibilities
