About The Position

Live Oak Contracting is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join their growing operations team. In this role, you will support the Superintendent in managing daily on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to Live Oak's high standards of quality. You will coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress, and help maintain compliance with all project requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional ready to advance into site leadership within a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in multifamily or similar commercial construction (Project Engineer or equivalent role preferred).
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and scheduling software.
  • Effective communicator with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work on active construction sites (walking, climbing, bending, etc.).
  • Availability for occasional nights and weekends as project needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent in planning, scheduling, and supervising all on-site construction activities.
  • Support review of drawings, specifications, and project plans for accuracy and compliance.
  • Help coordinate subcontractors and ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Promote and enforce safety policies and participate in weekly site safety meetings.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential risks, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization to ensure a professional and safe environment.
  • Build strong working relationships with project managers, trade partners, engineers, and inspectors.
  • Participate in project closeout including punch list completion and final documentation.
  • Represent Live Oak's mission and values through professionalism, communication, and teamwork.
