About The Position

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision and with direction from the lead engineers, perform engineering work of moderate difficulty and responsibility for the Capital Projects division.
  • Inspect/observe construction sites to monitor progress and ensure design compliance.
  • Investigate existing facilities or structural elements for safety and structural integrity.
  • Prepare assessment reports, scopes of work, estimates, permit applications and related documents.
  • Complete structural analysis and design for new construction and repair or modification of existing structures.
  • Draft detailed drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate all work for ongoing projects, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Propose and manage procurement and oversight for work by specialty consultants and contractors.
  • Perform miscellaneous technical and administrative tasks to ensure public facilities are optimally designed, constructed and maintained.
