About The Position

Allen Edmonds is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support all store activities in partnership with the Store Manager. This role involves supporting the Sales Associate team, executing product placement, upholding in-store visual merchandising standards, and creating an environment representative of the brand's premium experience. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Some retail store management experience or relevant management experience in lieu
  • Able to build constructive and effective relationships within the store
  • Demonstrates an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals
  • Demonstrates an ability to lead, manage, motivate and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
  • Ability to train, coach and develop Associates.
  • Must exercise independent judgment and discretion partnering with Store Sales Manager as needed
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures
  • Ability to influence at all levels, as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and be assertive in driving successful management strategies.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends and extended hours
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques
  • Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coaching Sales Associates to ensure their sustained success in sales performance and overcoming obstacles.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to develop action plans for the team to build on success.
  • Lead Sales Associate training and skill reinforcement in customer service standards, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
  • Regularly walk the sales floor with team members, using Allen Edmonds visual merchandising guidelines to ensure standards are being met and maintained.
  • Spearhead local quarterly events including in-store experiences, customer outreach & engagement campaigns, and event cultivation to increase store traffic and sales.
  • Regularly review sales results and store KPIs with the Store Manager to find areas of opportunity within forecasting for business impact and improvements.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to ensure the needs of the business are met.
