About The Position

Magoo’s Pet Outlet is a family-owned, high-volume wholesale and discount pet supply store that has served Michigan communities for over 40 years. We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager in driving sales, leading our team, and managing heavy inventory turnover. This isn't a desk job—it’s an active, fast-paced leadership role perfect for someone who takes pride in maintaining a well-run, efficiently stocked sales floor and motivating an operational team.

Requirements

Prior retail or warehouse-retail experience required
Strong communication skills
Basic computer literacy
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Must be able to stand/walk for full shifts and regularly lift/carry up to 50 lbs of bulk pet product.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Leadership experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in coaching, training, and motivating staff to hit sales goals and maintain store standards.
Oversee high-volume stock placement, bulk inventory control, and promotional pricing accuracy.
Maintain an organized sales floor, step in to assist with high-traffic customer service, and resolve urgent operational issues on the fly.
