About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports store operations and works closely with the Store Manager to help ensure the store runs smoothly. The role provides customer service, helps lead and develop employees, enforces company policies and procedures, and supports sales, foodservice, inventory, cleanliness, safety, and cash-handling activities. The position requires open availability for a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may involve responding to emergencies when the Store Manager is unavailable.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience, with a proven record of supervising team members in a food-service or retail environment.
• At least 3 months of customer-service experience.
• Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to think quickly and adapt to change.
• Open availability to meet the needs of a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be of legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco and able to work around slot machines in Nevada.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including frequently lifting or moving up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 65 pounds, and working around heat, cold, allergens, noise, fumes, and chemical or gasoline odors.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, exceptional customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
• Assist with training, mentoring, supervising, and providing leadership to employees.
• Interpret and enforce company policies and procedures with the team.
• Suggest purchases to customers and promote store specials.
• Ensure sanitation and food-handling, preparation, storage, and disposal procedures are followed.
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store, including the building, islands, pumps, and applicable carwash areas; maintain supplies and minimize store-outs.
• Restock shelves, displays, and coolers, and transfer products as needed to minimize store-outs.
• Clean the fast-food area and equipment and restock supplies as needed.
• Follow the Safety Manual, report accidents and incidents to the manager promptly, and investigate and gather relevant information about customer and employee incidents or accidents.
• Work weekends and other shifts and remain available to work any shift.
• Manage foodservice and beverage programs to maximize sales and minimize loss.
• Enter sales in the register at the time of sale and make safe drops according to company policy.
• Prepare daily deposits on weekends and when covering for the manager.
• Prepare weekly product orders from suppliers as needed.
• Respond to emergencies when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Operate the cash register and other store equipment as needed.
• Prepare cashier checkouts and report accurately according to policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
