About The Position

TrailersPlus is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to help lead its lot and retail operations. The role supports store revenue growth, daily operations, inventory management, customer service, and repair work. The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager and leads the team and store operations when the Store Manager is absent. This position is based at 3318 12th St, Wayland, MI 49348. It is scheduled for 40 hours per week, with overtime if approved. Compensation is $21–$22 per hour, depending on experience, plus commissions and bonuses.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months to one year of related retail, sales, or operational experience.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to drive sales and communicate effectively.
Ability to obtain company certification to operate forklifts, tractors, power tools, and welding equipment.
Proficiency with online systems and basic math, including discounts, commissions, and percentages.
Ability to frequently stand and walk, routinely lift 50–75 pounds, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to obtain state and city vehicle sales licenses where required by law.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in achieving sales goals, generating local leads, and assisting customers with trailer, parts, and service purchases.
Assist with supervising, hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching sales and service staff.
Oversee daily trailer inspections, inventory control, vendor relations, invoicing, special orders, and accurate paperwork submission to state agencies.
Keep the facility, shop, and lot grounds safe, clean, organized, and presentable.
Operate equipment such as forklifts and tractors and perform basic service work in accordance with safety guidelines and the company Employee Handbook.
Back up the Store Manager when absent, including scheduling, timecard management, and maintaining team accountability.
