This role assists the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store, including sales, customer service, operations, administration, communication, marketing, and merchandising. The Assistant Store Manager must be able to assume the responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years retail experience
  • 1-2 years specialty management experience

Responsibilities

  • Achieve personal and store sales goals through tracking, monitoring, and communicating business results.
  • Maintain an elevated level of sales and service by leading by example and developing personal sales techniques, while also assisting in the development of associates' sales techniques.
  • Ensure all sales-related policies and procedures are maintained.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise and foster product knowledge among selling staff.
  • Maintain a keen interest in the fashion industry and market trends.
  • Ensure all associates provide the highest level of customer service and maintain repeat clientele by utilizing personal client books and assisting staff with their client books.
  • Address and resolve all client problems and complaints quickly and effectively.
  • Assist sales associates with various customer service issues, such as dissatisfied customers, returns, and defective merchandise.
  • Assist with store operations in areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, and inventory management.
  • Assist in staff training in all areas of appropriate register usage and maintenance, and properly execute all management register functions.
  • Execute cash control procedures, including bank deposits, safe funds, and petty cash.
  • Responsible for driving product to and from the Offsite location on an as needed basis (for Offsite drivers).
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of all merchandising/visual directives.
  • Ensure the selling floor is neat, clean, organized, and reflects the correct visual image at all times.
  • Ensure deliveries are properly processed in a timely manner and communicate product concerns promptly.
  • Manage inventory needs to support business goals.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Ensure the integrity of payroll and the payroll process.
  • Evaluate the performance of each associate and provide constant feedback to ensure results.
  • Handle all human resources issues in a timely and effective manner, partnering with HR when necessary.
  • Provide follow-up for all training programs, seminars, etc.
  • Ensure image and grooming standards are professional, reflective of the brand image, and adhered to at all times.
