About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in daily retail store operations to help achieve maximum sales and profitability. The role focuses on merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, staff training and development, human resources activities, operational compliance, and outstanding customer service. The position may require working across multiple stores in the assigned district. The standard work week does not exceed 40 hours, and a flexible schedule is required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of English for effective communication with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations, with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven, with critical and creative thinking skills, project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.
Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.
Ability to execute directives precisely and consistently.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in daily store operations and efforts to achieve sales and profitability goals.
Be responsible for the overall quality and performance of retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to build commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager and provide feedback on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help the store perform within budget.
Help monitor and identify loss or inventory inconsistencies and support achievement of shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Uphold customer service standards and provide customers with a friendly environment and outstanding service.
Assist with accurate, regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
