Help people create homes they love. Join the Urban Barn team as a Full-time Assistant Store Manager at our new Moncton, New Brunswick store, opening at the end of October 2026. With over 50 retail stores across Canada, Urban Barn is a proudly Canadian retailer offering high-quality furniture and home décor. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in building a strong team, creating a positive work environment, and delivering an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. A key part of your role will be driving sales success by connecting with customers and coaching the team to achieve results. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new store opening, contribute to building a team from the ground up, and bring your creativity and passion for design into a large-format store environment. Training is scheduled to begin on September 8, 2026, with some sessions taking place at our Dartmouth, NS store. Our stores are open 7 days a week, so we are looking for candidates who can work 40 hours per week and are available to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Requirements
- At least 2 years of Retail Sales Management experience
- Bilingual language skills (French & English) are an asset
- Experience with achieving sales targets
- A passion for interior décor and merchandising
- Proven ability to coach and develop a team of top performers
- Commitment to a flexible schedule (Open availability for daytime, evening, and weekend shifts)
- The ability to lift and move loads up to 50 lbs / 23 kg
Responsibilities
- Guide customers in their decor choices
- Drive store sales by leading by example on the sales floor and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the team to deliver outstanding customer service and sales results.
- Communicate your expectations to the team and provide training and feedback
- Manage store merchandising, inventory, and shrink
- Lead and maintain the visual standards and cleanliness of the store
