About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in daily retail store operations, helping ensure maximum sales and profitability through merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources management, and outstanding customer service. The role is responsible for the quality and performance of store staff and for compliance with company policies, operational requirements, safety standards, and business standards. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The standard work week is not to exceed 40 hours. The employee may work across multiple stores in the assigned district and must be able to travel. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential situations.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven approach and critical and creative thinking skills.
Project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.

Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in maintaining daily store operations and achieving sales and profitability goals.
Oversee the quality and performance of retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership and build commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager and provide feedback on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help the store perform within budget.
Monitor and identify issues related to loss or store inconsistencies, helping the store meet shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Uphold customer service standards and provide a friendly environment where customers receive outstanding service.
Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
