Assistant Store Manager - Apple Valley
About The Position
The Assistant Store Manager helps maximize donations so sales and revenue goals are met. The role provides leadership and guidance to create a store environment focused on customer service and employee satisfaction, while carrying out store operations within organizational guidelines. The Assistant Store Manager supervises and directs employees while supporting Goodwill-Easter Seals’ mission and values. The position oversees operational efficiency, employee training and development, staffing needs, financial and business controls, reporting and communication, community involvement and education, and a safe, welcoming environment for employees and customers. The role includes an every-other-weekend rotation, no overnight or late closing shifts, and limited holiday hours.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to prioritize.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills.
- Strong people-management and coaching skills.
- Knowledge or expertise in working with people with disadvantages and/or disabilities, as well as barriers to employment.
- Strong conflict-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Ability and desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to interact with a diverse population in a human-services setting.

- Ensure the retail store runs efficiently and effectively.
