About The Position

As an Assistant Store Manager – Visual Merchandising, you’ll help bring the Article brand to life in our showroom by leading visual merchandising execution, creating inspiring customer environments, and ensuring every space reflects our design philosophy and brand standards. We're looking for a customer-focused leader who can help bring this vision to life through hospitality, relationship building, design expertise, and coaching. You'll play a key role in establishing the customer experience standards, clienteling practices, and service culture that will define the San Francisco store experience. Within your first few months, you'll help launch a brand-new store, build strong relationships with customers and associates, and drive consistent execution of our Customer Experience Model. In a year, you'll be proud to say you've helped establish a loyal customer base, increased clienteling engagement, and created a showroom experience that customers remember, recommend, and return to.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of retail leadership experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • 2+ years of visual merchandising experience in retail.
  • Strong understanding of visual presentation, space planning, and product storytelling.
  • Experience executing merchandising standards and maintaining presentation excellence.
  • Sets clear expectations for visual merchandising standards and daily execution.
  • Models accountability through reliability, ownership, and attention to detail.
  • Provides timely coaching and feedback to support team development.
  • Uses facts, observations, and business needs to prioritize merchandising activities.
  • Supports learning while maintaining accountability for presentation standards.
  • Strong visual design instincts and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret merchandising directives and translate them into compelling in-store experiences.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Completion of a criminal background check.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel throughout Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead visual merchandising execution and presentation excellence across the showroom.
  • Champion and uphold Article's Visual Merchandising Standards throughout the showroom.
  • Create inspiring and functional room layouts that showcase key collections and product stories.
  • Execute seasonal merchandising directives, floor moves, and showroom updates.
  • Maintain exceptional presentation standards across product displays, lighting, signage, styling, and accessory placement.
  • Conduct regular showroom walkthroughs to identify opportunities and maintain visual consistency.
  • Utilize visual storytelling to communicate Article's brand, design philosophy, and product features.
  • Partner with Store Leadership and the Regional Visual Merchandising Manager to execute merchandising strategies and initiatives.
  • Coach associates on visual merchandising standards, presentation excellence, and showroom maintenance.
  • Analyze customer traffic flow, product engagement, and showroom effectiveness to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead by example with resilience, adaptability, and above-the-line behaviour.

Benefits

  • The salary range is $37 to $40 hourly
  • The starting salary will be determined by your transferable skills, knowledge, and work experience, and the hiring team’s budget based on business needs, market compensation data, and internal equity
