About The Position

Assistant Store Managers support the Store Manager in developing and coaching the store team and delivering Lidl’s customer shopping experience. Successful candidates take ownership of store performance, demonstrate proactive leadership, handle operational and personnel challenges, adapt between tasks, and identify and prioritize employee training and development. The role is focused on providing customers with high-quality, low-price, and hassle-free shopping. The Assistant Store Manager Trainee works directly with the Store Manager to lead and motivate the team, provide excellent customer service, improve store KPIs, lead team projects such as promotional sets and re-merchandising, and perform hands-on store operations. The role also helps maintain a safe, positive, and productive work environment in accordance with company and legal policies and procedures.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
1–2 years of management experience or a bachelor’s degree.
Determination to complete tasks on time, meet store targets, and maximize productivity.
Experience leading and developing a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent customer service skills, including patience and the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
Willingness to participate daily in physical store operations, including stocking, cleaning, and ringing.
Ability to lift, move, carry, or slide product weighing over 50 pounds.
Ability to reach above the head to heights greater than 10 inches.
Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

Work directly with the Store Manager to lead and motivate the team to reach its full potential.
Provide excellent customer service throughout the store and serve as the lead point of contact for customer needs.
Monitor and drive continuous improvement of store Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Lead team projects, including weekly promotional store sets and routine re-merchandising.
Provide hands-on support for operational tasks, including cash management, working stock, cleaning, and other essential store functions.
Help ensure a safe, positive, and productive working environment based on company and legal policies and procedures.
