About The Position

Under the direction of the Statistical Consultant, the incumbent provides support in the collection, organization, and preparation of data for statistical analysis and reporting. The incumbent assists with survey administration, data management, and the preparation of tables, charts, and reports. This position ensures the accuracy and consistency of data handling and contributes to the university’s planning, assessment, and accountability processes by providing dependable technical and administrative assistance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of research techniques.
  • Knowledge of the methods of gathering and analyzing research data.
  • Knowledge of statistical procedures and principles.
  • Working knowledge of desktop word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Working knowledge of survey/evaluation software is required (Qualtrics is preferred).
  • Working knowledge of qualitative analysis software is strongly recommended (Dedoose or NVivo is preferred)
  • Ability to gather, compile and analyze research data.
  • Ability to perform basic statistical analyses using Computer-based software, e.g., SAS or SPSS.
  • Ability to train Faculty and explain technical information in a simple manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and facilitate a customer service orientation.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, or related technical field.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of related experience.
  • Statistical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing statistical and qualitative data support for faculty and graduate students including design, data preparation, analysis and web-based surveys.
  • Provide clerical and technical support in preparing statistical summaries, visualizations, and reports under the direction of the Statistical Consultant.
  • Assist in aggregating statistical web access information Qualtrics, Campus Software, Canvas and other databases.
  • Assist and support the SPOT administration when needed.
