About The Position

The Assistant Starbucks Manager supports the Starbucks Manager in overseeing daily licensed Starbucks café operations. This position helps ensure exceptional customer service, beverage and food quality, operational efficiency, food safety compliance, and partner development. The Assistant Starbucks Manager assists in leading the team, driving sales, maintaining Starbucks brand standards, and creating a welcoming environment for customers while supporting overall store goals.

Requirements

  • Previous Starbucks, coffee shop, food service, retail, or grocery experience required.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles, food safety practices, and café operations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily Starbucks operations to ensure efficient service and execution.
  • Support achievement of sales, labor, and customer service goals.
  • Ensure beverage and food products are prepared according to Starbucks recipes and standards.
  • Monitor café conditions to maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout operating hours.
  • Assist with implementing company initiatives, promotions, and seasonal beverage programs.
  • Support efficient workflow during peak business periods.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a customer-first culture.
  • Create a welcoming and positive café experience for every customer.
  • Address customer concerns promptly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Ensure associates consistently provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service.
  • Foster customer loyalty through outstanding service and product quality.
  • Help maintain attractive product displays and merchandising presentations.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and promotional materials are displayed.
  • Support seasonal launches and promotional programs.
  • Maintain product availability to meet customer demand.
  • Identify opportunities to drive sales through suggestive selling and product awareness.
  • Assist with product ordering and inventory control.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies and minimize shortages.
  • Help control shrink and waste through proper forecasting, handling, and rotation.
  • Verify delivery accuracy and proper storage of products and supplies.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and backroom inventory.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and daily direction to Starbucks associates.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Support scheduling and labor planning to meet operational needs.
  • Monitor associate performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Serve as acting department leader in the absence of the Starbucks Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with Starbucks standards, company policies, and health regulations.
  • Monitor food safety, sanitation, and proper product handling procedures.
  • Ensure beverage and food preparation standards are consistently followed.
  • Conduct routine inspections to maintain cleanliness and operational excellence.
  • Report and address food safety and workplace safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist in monitoring department performance metrics and operating results.
  • Support labor management and productivity initiatives.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to achieving department sales and profitability goals.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records and operational documentation.
