Position Summary The Assistant Starbucks Manager supports the Starbucks Manager in overseeing all aspects of the in-store Starbucks licensed kiosk operation, including customer service, beverage quality, food safety, merchandising, labor management, inventory control, and partner development. This position helps ensure Starbucks brand standards and company expectations are consistently met while delivering an exceptional customer experience and achieving department performance goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Starbucks, coffee shop, food service, or retail experience preferred.
  • Prior supervisory, lead, or management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of beverage preparation, food safety, and retail operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Starbucks department.
  • Ensure Starbucks recipes, beverage standards, and operational procedures are consistently followed.
  • Monitor product availability, ordering, receiving, and inventory levels.
  • Support execution of promotional programs, seasonal launches, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked workstations and customer areas.
  • Ensure operational readiness throughout all business hours.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming Starbucks experience.
  • Build positive relationships with customers through friendly, professional interactions.
  • Resolve customer concerns and service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Promote Starbucks products, seasonal beverages, and food offerings.
  • Foster a customer-first culture among all department associates.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing Starbucks associates.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to department team members.
  • Help establish performance expectations and accountability standards.
  • Support associate engagement and recognition initiatives.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, teamwork, and outstanding service.
  • Ensure beverages and food items are prepared according to Starbucks standards.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure cleaning routines, temperature logs, and food safety procedures are completed accurately.
  • Support department readiness for audits, inspections, and quality reviews.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure product availability while reducing waste.
  • Support ordering and receiving processes in accordance with department needs.
  • Monitor product rotation and storage procedures.
  • Verify pricing, signage, and promotional materials are accurate and current.
  • Support merchandising efforts to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Assist in achieving department sales, labor, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Monitor waste and support shrink reduction initiatives.
  • Help manage labor productivity and scheduling efficiencies.
  • Review department performance metrics and assist with action planning.
  • Support cost control initiatives and operational efficiency efforts.
