About The Position

The Assistant Starbucks Manager supports the Starbucks Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the licensed Starbucks department. This role assists with delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining Starbucks brand standards, driving sales, ensuring food and beverage quality, and leading department associates. The Assistant Starbucks Manager assumes department leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Starbucks Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

  • Must have knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Starbucks Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Experience in a licensed Starbucks environment.

  • Experience with training and developing associates.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily Starbucks department operations to ensure efficient and effective execution.
  • Ensure all beverages and food items are prepared according to Starbucks recipes and quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and product rotation.
  • Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of Starbucks equipment and workstations.
  • Support promotional programs, seasonal offerings, and company initiatives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming café experience.
  • Build customer loyalty by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service.
  • Address customer concerns, questions, and special requests promptly and professionally.
  • Promote products through suggestive selling and beverage knowledge.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing Starbucks associates.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to support associate growth.
  • Help coordinate daily work assignments and staffing needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and customer-focused work environment.
  • Support performance management and accountability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Starbucks operating standards, food safety requirements, and sanitation procedures.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all associates follow company policies, procedures, and workplace safety standards.
  • Maintain required operational, food safety, and training documentation.
  • Assist in achieving department sales, labor, and profitability goals.
  • Monitor waste, inventory levels, and product costs to support financial objectives.
  • Support merchandising, promotional events, and seasonal programs to drive sales.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service performance.
