The Assistant Starbucks Manager supports the Starbucks Manager in overseeing daily department operations while delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience. This position helps lead and develop associates, maintain product quality and presentation standards, ensure food safety and sanitation requirements are followed, and support efficient department operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overseeing daily Starbucks operations and maintaining a welcoming, customer-focused environment.
• Prepare and serve beverages and food items according to established recipes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to customers.
• Help coordinate daily associate assignments, breaks, and workflow based on business needs.
• Train, coach, and provide day-to-day direction to department associates.
• Ensure proper procedures are followed for beverage preparation, product handling, equipment use, and customer service.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, availability, and presentation throughout the shift.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating merchandise and supplies.
• Help minimize product loss and waste through proper production planning, rotation, and inventory practices.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service counters, preparation areas, storage areas, and equipment.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, temperature control, and personal hygiene standards are consistently followed.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Monitor department conditions and respond to operational or customer service concerns.
• Assist customers with questions, special requests, and service issues in a professional manner.
• Support department sales, productivity, service, and operational goals.
• Ensure associates follow company policies, safety procedures, and loss prevention practices.
• Communicate department needs, staffing concerns, equipment issues, and operational challenges to the Starbucks Manager or store leadership.
• Perform additional department responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.
• Provide daily direction and support to Starbucks associates.
• Lead by example by demonstrating excellent customer service, teamwork, professionalism, and urgency.
• Assist with training new associates on department procedures, product preparation, sanitation, and customer service expectations.
• Coach associates to improve performance, efficiency, product quality, and customer engagement.
• Help maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Communicate department priorities and expectations clearly to the team.
• Support the Starbucks Manager with department planning and daily operational decisions.
• Take an active leadership role in department operations when the Starbucks Manager is unavailable.
