About The Position

As an Assistant Stage Manager in the Jewelry Television on-air Department, you will be an integral part of a live, 24/7 studio environment. This role requires a strong, dependable, multi-tasker with excellent organizational and communication skills. The Assistant Stage Manager should have the ability to adapt quickly to the fast-paced, ever-changing needs of a live show. The Assistant Stage Manager will provide real-time leadership and support for organizing, monitoring and prioritizing products and props for the Live Show Production Assistants. The ASM will also be responsible for weekly schedules, coverage for call-offs, and managing weekly and monthly man-hours. This includes responsibilities for overseeing personnel, coaching, and addressing performance or behavioral issues as necessary. Weekend, nights and holiday availability is required. This role is located in Knoxville, Tennessee and is not remote. As part of supporting the Stage Manager ... • Supervise operations within the Studio facility to achieve higher output by the PA team  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of hourly associates • Run daily floor execution (flowing, receiving, quality checks, or reconciling) • Set clear expectations for workflow, quality, productivity, attendance and safety, • Conduct start-of-shift huddles and end-of-shift recaps • Monitor labor vs. volume and help adjust staffing in real time and handle call-offs • Partner with other Supervisors, Managers or departments on modifying goals to influence process improvements • Identify bottlenecks and develop practical solutions • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires • Train newly hired associates cross-train team members • Enforce SOPs and escalate issues appropriately • Maintain Prop inventory, replace as needed • Help create a positive, accountable, high-energy culture on the floor

Requirements

  • 3+ years leading people in a service industry, warehouse, distribution center, or on-air production environment
  • Strong communicator who can coach in the moment
  • Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic
  • Data-driven mindset (productivity, quality, attendance, safety)
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Tech-comfortable (Mac, PC, Office, scanners, basic reporting)
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including peak seasons, weekends and nights
  • Proven experience in production planning/demand planning/capacity planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Process flow mapping capability & knowledge
  • Good computer skills utilizing MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, & scheduling inside ERP systems (Dynamics AX, Oracle, SAP).
  • The ability to learn company specialized software programs.

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a production-related field is a plus but not required
