The Assistant Staff Accountant will assist in the month-end and year-end close processes. Responsibilities of this position would include Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Variance Analysis, Forecasting, Journal Entries and Budgeting. In addition, this position would support in the providing of data to both Internal Audit and External Audit.

Requirements

  • One years’ work experience in the accounting field with analysis experience
  • Proficient Excel Skills
  • Extremely detailed oriented, self-motivated, independent proactive worker

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Monthly Account Reconciliations.
  • Prepare Monthly Variance Analysis.
  • Prepare Monthly Journal Entries.
  • Prepare Monthly Real Estate Tax invoices that are directly paid to municipalities.
  • Prepare invoice uploads for the payment process.
  • Assist in gathering supporting documents of all external/internal/financial audits.
  • Assist with any ad-hoc projects.
  • Complies at all times with the Standards, policies and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics set out in the Bookseller Handbook
