About The Position

Lewis Central Community School District is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach for the 2026-27 school year. The primary role of the Assistant Coach, under the direction of the Activities Director and Head Softball Coach, is to guide and develop students in extracurricular activities, aiming for both individual and program success. This involves fostering skill development, teamwork, and personal growth in a positive and inclusive environment. The coach will also ensure compliance with district policies, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and encourage academic achievement alongside extracurricular involvement. Attendance and supervision at events are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to student participants, fostering their personal and extracurricular growth.
  • Plan and execute practice sessions.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and commitment.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community members to promote a supportive and engaging program.
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state policies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding activities, schedules, and expectations.
  • Encourage academic achievement and emphasize the importance of balancing academics with extra-curricular activities.
  • Attend, support, and supervise students at competitions, performances, and other related events.
  • Travel to all related events and potentially operate a school vehicle to transport student-participants.
