About The Position

Supports all aspects of competitive NCAA Division I softball program, with primary responsibilities in coaching, recruiting, player development, scouting, and program operations; plays a key role in the instruction and development of student-athletes, focusing on pitchers and catchers, while assisting with team practices, game preparation, and in-game strategy; serves as the program’s lead recruiting coordinator, managing the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA and institutional regulations; oversees recruiting events; coordinates team travel logistics; supports academic success initiatives for student-athletes; assists with home game operations; and serves as primary administrator for scouting and player-development technologies, providing data-driven insights to enhance team performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least four years of collegiate softball or baseball coaching or collegiate softball or baseball playing experience required. Student experience will be considered.
  • Must abide by the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, and the University of Northern Iowa.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using data capturing technology (Rapsodo, Blast Motion or similar technology)
  • Ability to navigate video and data scouting programs (Synergy, 6-4-3 or similar programs)
  • Understanding of advanced softball stats and sabermetrics
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs preferred.
