About The Position

Wesleyan College, a member of the NAIA and the Southern States Athletic Conference, seeks qualified candidates for an Assistant Coach for Women's Soccer. The Assistant Coach for Soccer will assist the Head Soccer Coach in carrying out the objectives of the athletics program as outlined by the Head Coach and Athletic Director. The Assistant Coach will instruct athletes in team and individual fundamentals, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize individual and team success. This position reports to the Head Basketball coach in conjunction with the Athletic Director. The candidate will be expected to know and/or quickly familiarize themselves and adhere to NAIA and SSAC rules and regulations. Pay for this position is a $2,000 stipend paid monthly over the course of the Soccer season.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • One or more years of successful high school, college, or private coaching experience is preferred
  • Ability to assess the team’s competitive strengths and vulnerabilities
  • Demonstrated skill in making recommendations to enhance the team’s performance
  • Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule
  • Previous experience in Collegiate Athletics as a student athlete or coach preferred
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to, support, and follow the academic standards and requirements of the University regarding the eligibility student-athletes.
  • Assist student-athletes by providing appropriate advice and assistance to help ensure the success of each student-athletes' development and completion of stated program of study.
  • Report any known or suspected violations of the College and NAIA rules and regulations to the Director of Athletics.
  • Assist in organizing and supervising all practices, games, and other workout sessions for the team.
  • Assist the Head Coach in the instruction and coaching of student-athletes.
