About The Position

This is a part-time, non-exempt position for an After School Program, requiring approximately 30 hours per week with varying shifts that may include evenings and weekends. The Assistant Site Coordinator supports the Site Coordinator in overseeing on-site logistics, with a strong emphasis on administrative responsibilities. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of impactful and fun after-school program experiences. Key duties include leading daily meal and field trip logistics, managing events, and serving as a primary point of contact for parents, community members, administration, and staff. The position is on-site, requiring attendance at training sessions at the Woodcraft Rangers main office and school sites.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance
  • TB Test clearance
  • First Aid & CPR certification (provided by WR)
  • 6 months of experience supervising or leading a team and/or a group of children in a school recreational setting OR 6 units in child development.
  • Ability to use smart phone for work-related business (WR provides Wi-Fi/cell stipend)
  • Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling
  • For ABC Unified School District (Cerritos) Candidates ONLY - 48+ College Units or ABC Unified Paraeducator Test Completion.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure students are always in a safe environment (physically and emotionally).
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families.
  • In collaboration with the Site Coordinator, support the on-site team to perform their duties and deliver high-quality programs and/or customer service.
  • Coordinate snacks and meals with the food services vendor, provide related training to the WR team, and submit required documentation.
  • Effectively implement site protocols, safety regulations, WR procedures, and policies.
  • Oversee and track all compliance requirements, ensuring accurate and timely submission of documentation, including attendance records, program surveys, and cycle reports.
  • Comply with all applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols, maintaining up-to-date training and certifications.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders, including participants, families, site personnel, and colleagues.
  • Support the development and planning of culminating activities/end-of-week activities and/or events that highlight participants' work and accomplishments.
  • May be required to attend off-site field trips if the Site Coordinator is not available.
  • Participate in staff development trainings as required, approximately 30 hours spread out over multiple weekends/intersessional days throughout the spring.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
