Assistant Showroom Manager
About The Position
Babylist is seeking an Assistant Showroom Manager to help lead its flagship Beverly Hills showroom. This hands-on role combines people management, guest experience, and daily operations. As second-in-command, the Assistant Showroom Manager supports the Showroom Manager with scheduling, coverage, and guest flow, while guiding families through their visits, making expert product recommendations, and helping the team deliver thoughtful, personalized service. The role includes hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, recognizing employee growth, and addressing performance concerns. The Assistant Showroom Manager helps keep the showroom inviting and organized and steps in as acting Showroom Manager when the manager is away. They also help plan and run VIP appointments, events, and activations that bring the Babylist brand to life. This is a fully on-site role at the Beverly Hills showroom.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of retail management experience, including hands-on hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Comfort giving direct feedback, coaching employees toward improvement, recognizing growth, and having difficult conversations.
- Ability to independently manage a busy floor, set priorities, solve problems in the moment, and keep guest flow moving.
- Ability to deliver a personalized, memorable guest experience and empower the team to do the same.
- Ability to keep the showroom organized and welcoming, including visual merchandising, inventory standards, and cleanliness.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible shifts as the showroom schedule requires.
- Ability to stand for 8–10 hours per shift and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Warm and respectful approach toward every family.
- Comfort using AI at work and curiosity about emerging AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Run daily operations with the Showroom Manager, including scheduling, coverage, and guest flow.
- Greet guests, answer questions, and make thoughtful product recommendations on the floor.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new staff, then provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Maintain merchandising, inventory, and cleanliness to Babylist brand standards.
- Step in as acting Showroom Manager when needed.
- Help plan and run VIP appointments, events, and activations.
