We are currently seeking an Assistant Service Manager to help lead residential building maintenance at our 81-unit community in College Park, Maryland. This is a manager in training role intended to prepare you with the technical skills, leadership skills and experience to advance your career to a Service Manager. As an Assistant Service Manager, you ensure our communities are great places to live by keeping the building safe, clean and inviting and by resolving maintenance issues in residents’ apartment homes. As a manager in training, you develop leadership skills and learn more complex technical responsibilities like budgeting, preventative maintenance and project management. The majority of your day is spent providing outstanding customer service and attending to HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance maintenance tickets. You assist with apartment turns, move ins, move outs and general upkeep of building common areas and grounds. You are an important member of a larger team responsible for ensuring the residents of the community have an exceptional experience as part of the WPC family.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of trusted experience in residential, commercial, healthcare, and/or hospitality building maintenance
  • Track record of exceptional customer service
  • Strength in building trades
  • Ability to interact with all types of people and solve maintenance issues
  • Kindness and respect towards others
  • Organization, neatness, and an eye for detail
  • High school GED required
  • Ability to lift, carry or move heavy equipment and boxes (up to 50lbs)
  • Ability to regularly ascend or descend a ladder
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to work irregular hours (overnight, weekends, overtime)
  • Ability to work outside, sometimes in inclement weather
