About The Position

The Assistant Security Project Manager (ASPM) supports the Security Project Manager in overseeing daily security operations at assigned healthcare sites. This role ensures compliance, staff performance, policy enforcement, and operational readiness through active presence and supervision.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in supervision.
  • Basic understanding of security principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance relevant to healthcare.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting with knowledge of healthcare security standards.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, familiarity with CPI and IAHSS standards.
  • Familiarity with other healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and respond to urgent coverage needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily supervision of on-site security personnel.
  • Conduct unannounced site visits (“pop-ups”) to ensure policy adherence.
  • Attend and represent the security team at daily hospital huddles (primarily at Inland Valley Hospital).
  • Provide shift coverage during emergencies, absences, or staffing gaps.
  • Act as site lead during SPM vacation, PTO, or unavailability.
  • Assist with onboarding new hires after SPM's initial orientation.
  • Help conduct and track annual training (e.g., CPI and IAHSS certifications).
  • Deliver real-time coaching during drills or incident response.
  • Maintain up-to-date compliance files for all security staff.
  • Assist in developing, communicating, and implementing new policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all officers remain compliant with the required training and certifications.
  • Support performance improvement plans (PIPs) and follow-up reviews.
  • Participate in issuing and documenting corrective actions.
  • Contribute to staff coaching and professional development.
  • Participate in all scheduled drills (Code Pink, Purple, Red, and Code Grey).
  • Ensure appropriate responses from both security and medical staff.
  • Correct response issues in real time and provide guidance as needed.
  • Assist with month-end reporting, including Incident Reports, Code Grey Tracker, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and Environment of Care (EOC) and MPS Scoreboards.
