About The Position

The Assistant Security Manager supports the Director of Security in managing the Security department. This person is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the proper implementation of all departmental procedures and works closely with the department head as well as all hotel departments. They must demonstrate strong team spirit, an excellent appearance, good communication skills, and solid interpersonal abilities to meet the expectations of a high‑end clientele. Organized and detail‑oriented, this person manages the department’s daily operations, both operational and administrative. Strong organizational and managerial skills are also essential for daily team management and for developing the skills of each employee. A leader who is diplomatic and attentive, they are also responsible for handling complaints, regardless of the interlocutor.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and French, both orally and in writing
  • Advanced level of English required to negotiate with an international clientele, prepare quotes, contracts, and presentations in English, as well as to maintain business relationships with international partners
  • Have excellent resistance to stress and manage it positively and effectively
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years’ experience in hotel security or a similar position
  • Post-secondary degree or certification from a certified school in security or related field

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the team under their responsibility, both on the floor and in the office.
  • Handle requests, issues, and health & safety complaints raised by guests, with the support of their direct or indirect supervisor, while providing pleasant, efficient, and professional service in accordance with Four Seasons standards.
  • Stay up to date with safety procedures and applicable laws, ensure compliance, and act as a resource person to communicate them.
  • Assist in planning work schedules to meet operational needs and maximize productivity.
  • Carry out and coordinate patrols, interventions, and surveillance activities.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings and prepare the minutes.
  • Provide support for the onboarding and training of new hotel employees as well as ongoing training.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate daily instructions so that the next team has all necessary information for highquality followup.
  • Assist in training hotel security employees.
  • Welcome visitors and external company members, guide them upon entering the hotel, and answer any questions they may have.
  • Manage preparation and response to emergency situations, including fire safety, evacuation, and crisis management.
  • Assist the director with risk assessments and the implementation and updating of appropriate preventive measures for all risks.
  • Coordinate with hotel management, local authorities, and emergency services when necessary.
  • Conduct internal investigations and write detailed incident reports.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of CCTV systems, access control, and other security technologies.
  • Perform all related tasks, such as maintaining administrative records, preparing reports, and conducting audits related to security operations.
