The Assistant Secretary provides requested clerical support at the school site, communicates various information regarding activities and/or in response to requests, and ensures timely and accurate distribution of materials. This role supports principals and assistant principals in both routine and confidential areas, maintains various records, schedules, files, and rosters. The position also monitors financial-related information such as class size and attendance, processes documents and materials, composes various documents, and responds to inquiries from staff, the public, parents, and students. Additionally, the Assistant Secretary assists with ordering and distribution of supplies, oversees school or statewide programs, and may supervise student assistants and volunteers. Other duties include handling funds, processing student fees, and assisting with health office duties as needed.
