About The Position

This role involves attracting, advising, and serving existing and prospective customers by having in-depth conversations to help them achieve financial success. The position requires providing extraordinary service, maintaining a pipeline of referral opportunities, and responding promptly to customer needs. Key responsibilities include developing a customer calling list, proactively using the Customer Relationship Management system to expand relationships and identify new business, and building customer trust and loyalty. The role also involves expanding the branch with new clients and businesses, networking and volunteering in the community, and developing a broad knowledge of products and services. Additionally, the Assistant Secretary will accept and oversee the approval of consumer loans, ensuring credit quality within approved authority, and strictly adhering to bank security regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act, while safeguarding customer information. Collaboration with internal business partners such as Wealth Management, Electronic Banking, Mortgage, and Business Relationship Managers is essential to provide a full range of financial solutions. The role also directs human resources development for office professionals, including training, performance reviews, career path meetings, conducting meetings to communicate bank policies, ensuring staff adherence to procedures, and coaching staff on customer conversations and results. Prompt, accurate, and efficient customer service is provided by processing transactions such as opening new accounts, assisting with electronic banking and digital products, and processing transactions as needed. The role manages all aspects of the branch, including staff, customers, and the building and grounds. Participation in meeting Community Banking Department's long- and short-term goals and objectives through various meetings is also required. Other duties as assigned are part of the role.

Requirements

  • 3 years’ banking experience including supervisory responsibilities required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Supervisory training and expertise, leadership and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (i.e., heavy boxes or coins).
  • Ability to communicate in person, through email or via telephone with customers and staff members.
  • Ability to sit or stand for an extended period.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years management experience in sales/business related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure staff is following proper procedures and guidelines set forth by the bank.
  • Coach to evaluate staff’s customer conversations and results.
  • Open new accounts.
  • Process transactions on an as needed basis.
  • Manage all aspects of the branch including staff, customers, and the building and grounds.
  • Conduct or attend and participate in meetings to discuss and evaluate progress on meeting goals and objectives.
