About The Position

Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys to sample, measure, and analyze air, water, materials, and soil. Projects may include Phase I/II environmental site assessments, ecological and natural resource field surveys, tank closure assessments, asbestos and hazardous materials inspections, industrial hygiene and indoor air quality assessments, and storm water sampling and inspections. This is an entry-level scientific professional role focused on gathering data and information, performing field testing and sampling, preparing data for reports, and supporting technical document preparation. The position also involves operating, maintaining, and calibrating field monitoring equipment and transporting samples or documents to a laboratory for further testing and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related science field, or at least 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required.

Nice To Haves

• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Willingness to obtain asbestos and lead inspector licenses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys.
• Perform testing and sampling of environmental materials, including soil, air, groundwater, and building materials.
• Gather, tabulate, and prepare data and information for written reports.
• Assist with report preparation by summarizing data and information.
• Prepare technical documents, including proposals, permit applications, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate field monitoring equipment.
• Transport material samples or documents to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards on all projects and participate in pre-task planning.
• Report safety issues or concerns to management.
• Understand and practice quality acumen, and support consistent quality standards in proposal and project delivery.
• Demonstrate strong time management and communication skills.
