The department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Assistant Scientist to work onsite on the UHealth campus. The Assistant Scientist will lead independent and collaborative research focused on pancreatic islet biology, and beta cell function. The position supports translational research aimed at understanding mechanisms that contribute to diabetes development and progression, with a particular emphasis on islet cell adaptation, glucose homeostasis, and metabolic dysfunction. The role includes responsibility for project leadership, grant development, scientific writing, mentoring, and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations.
