About The Position

Primrose School of Kingwood, a private preschool located at 2311 Green Oak Drive Kingwood, TX 77339, is seeking an Assistant Director. This role is crucial in upholding the mission of providing the best early childhood education and childcare services. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, a problem-solver with excellent communication skills, and passionate about early childhood education. Responsibilities include promoting the school within the community to increase awareness and enrollment, and achieving profitability goals. Primrose School of Kingwood offers year-round programs for children from infant to elementary school age.

Requirements

  • Meet requirements of local child care regulatory agency and Primrose School of Kingwood.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
  • At least two years’ work experience in a licensed child care facility, kindergarten, or early childhood program.
  • Experience in management, business, and/or public relations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service to all external and internal customers.
  • Observe all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Kingwood and applicable regulatory agencies concerning the health, safety, and care of children.
  • Assume responsibility to manage the operation of the school in the Director’s absence.
  • Assist the Director with management responsibilities to ensure maximum enrollment and effective cost control for profitability.
  • Adhere to employment laws and compliance issues.
  • Assist in maintaining the school's physical appearance, attractiveness, and safety.
  • Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while setting clear and consistent behavioral expectations.
  • Perform essential functions for all school positions, including leadership, teaching, food service, and bus driving.
  • Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
  • Maintain professional personal appearance according to the Primrose School of Kingwood Employee Handbook guidelines.
  • Assist in other capacities as determined necessary by the Director or designee.
