About The Position

The Assistant Scheduler and Caregiver will join a team of leaders committed to helping older adults in our community. Responsibilities will include supporting the Starpoint Director with managing the “on-call phone” to communicate with fellow caregivers and clients and navigating last minute schedule changes. This involves finding a replacement when an aide calls off or no-shows, while effectively communicating all changes to clients and/or their families in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related field OR High School Diploma or G.E.D with 5 years of Home Health background experience, required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work a variety of hours both in office and in the field as a caregiver
  • Ability to work in the evening and weekends as needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while managing deadlines, interruptions, unexpected situations, and different personalities.
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic with ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • Passion for working with older adults including people living with dementia
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling daily with all caregivers and clients
  • Update the schedule in Adacare as needed to ensure accurate billing of client hours and payroll for staff
  • Work as caregiver to fill open shifts, call-offs, and no-shows as needed
  • Manage “on-call” phone as needed to effectively handle call-offs, no-shows and schedule changes in a timely manner
  • Assist with recruiting, scheduling interviews and onboarding new hires
  • Elevate all issues to Director and work constructively in resolving matters
  • Update client care plans in Adacare
  • Performing other office duties as assigned
