About The Position
Join a locally owned Great Clips salon as an Assistant Salon Manager. This role combines cutting hair with supporting daily salon operations and helping the team succeed. It may suit a licensed stylist looking to grow into management or take on more responsibility while continuing to work behind the chair. The salon offers a guaranteed clientele, steady customer flow, and a team-oriented environment. The position starts at $18.50 per hour plus tips. Assistant Salon Managers receive tools, training, and support to lead with confidence. Training in management and operations is provided through Great Clips University (GCU), alongside ongoing support and instruction from salon management. The role may provide a path to Salon Manager or other leadership positions. Great Clips salons are independently owned and operated by third-party franchisees, which are responsible for hiring and personnel matters.
Requirements
- A valid cosmetology and/or barber license; requirements vary by state or province.
- Strong technical haircutting skills and great customer service.
- A team-first mindset and desire to encourage and support others.
- Clear communication skills and a positive, motivating attitude.
- Organization, flexibility, and a desire to help keep the salon running smoothly.
- Interest in developing leadership skills and taking on more responsibility.
