About The Position

The Assistant Salon Manager supports and motivates a team of stylists while continuing to cut hair. The role combines haircutting with supporting daily salon operations and helping the team succeed. It offers opportunities to develop leadership skills and may be a stepping stone to Salon Manager or other leadership positions. Training in management and operations is provided through Great Clips University (GCU), with ongoing support and instruction from salon management. The position is with a locally owned and independently operated Great Clips salon; individual franchisees are responsible for hiring and personnel matters.

Requirements

• A valid Cosmetology and/or Barber License; requirements vary by state or province.
• Strong technical haircutting skills and great customer service.
• A team-first mindset and a desire to encourage and support others.
• Clear communication skills and a positive, motivating attitude.
• Organization, flexibility, and a desire to help keep the salon running smoothly.
• An interest in developing leadership skills and taking on more responsibility.
