About The Position

The Red Lantern Assistant Room Manager will support the Red Lantern Room manager in providing strategic leadership and direction to Team Members in the restaurant, working to achieve individual and department goals while maintaining AAA Four Diamond standards of Guest service. The Assistant Room Manager will support the efficient and profitable operation of the restaurant. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of restaurant management experience in a high-volume restaurant.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, evening shifts.
  • Time management skills including the ability to delegate, empower, and evaluate management and hourly Team Members to achieve desired objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in all decision making, even when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Chinese restaurant is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  • Assist the Room Manager in the organization and operation of the restaurant including meeting financial goals and budgets.
  • Maintain proper pars and inventories of all restaurant front-of-house supplies including, but not limited to, linens, tableware, and menus.
  • Assist with maintaining weekly staffing schedules for proper coverage.
  • Communicate with outgoing or incoming manager between each shift regarding operational topics including staffing, business volumes, and service levels.
  • Evaluate the restaurant, bar, kitchen, storage areas, and bathrooms to ensure that all areas meet safety standards. Verify that all stations are clean and orderly.
  • Evaluate tables, chairs, and woodwork for general maintenance and cleanliness. Evaluate linens for quality and quantity. Verify that lights, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, telephones, audio/visual equipment, air conditioning, and heating are functional.
  • Check voice mail and respond accordingly. Record any information that requires follow-up. Record information as observed during shift.
  • Forecast labor and projected sales volumes for the shift utilizing hourly sales reports, pre-shift information, and e-mail notifications. Be aware of any special events and holidays and adjust forecasts accordingly.
  • Prepare pre-shift information including a station diagram for servers, breaker sheets, and daily requisition forms. Ensure that Team Members are compliant with Thunder Valley’s required training.
  • Coordinate with managers working concurrently to provide sufficient coverage for each area of the restaurant.
  • Evaluate Team Members’ performance in their work stations and side work.
  • Prepare close shift for servers and cashiers at the end of each shift.
  • Update POS with current price for each item and items removed from the menu for the day. Communicate with on-coming management.
  • Verify Team Members’ time clock punches and meal attestations in Kronos.
  • Assist fellow Team members and Management in areas as needed.
