About The Position

This role assists in the day-to-day operations of Restaurant and Bowling Lanes service, ensuring all service and product standards are exceeded. The Assistant Restaurant Manager meets regularly with the department manager to ensure service goals, training needs, and all departmental goals remain on target. This position also supports all F&B departments in achieving their financial and operational targets and assists the Restaurant Manager and HR Manager in the selection, training, and development of all restaurant team members. The role promotes development through well-planned cross-training programs and assists in department schedules and daily floor charts for Servers. Key responsibilities include ensuring the implementation of standards in guest service, refining service and bar/beverage standards, collaborating with bartenders on menu turns and drink specials, and assuring consistent maintenance of F&B systems and control procedures. The Assistant Restaurant Manager also assists in controlling F&B, labor, and operating expenses, ensuring F&B operations meet sanitation and safety compliance, and periodically checking TABC and Food Handler compliance. The role consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service, performs table touching for guest satisfaction, and effectively trains FOH Team members in Open Table. Assistance in other areas as requested by a manager and maintaining uniform standards are also part of the duties.

Requirements

  • Standing for long periods of time with frequent bending and turning

  • Ability to withstand extreme hot/cold temperatures
  • Must be proficient in menu knowledge and food service basics
  • Must possess a valid Food Handler’s Certificate or other similar license per local code
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Obtain training certification per company policy
  • Must possess a valid TABC or other legal license to sell/serve alcohol per local code

  • 1+ year Prior Guest Service Experience in Restaurant Hospitality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use a point of sale system and other electronic devices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the bartenders in refinement of successful seasonal bar menu turns and drink specials as directed by Director of F&B.
  • Assures consistent maintenance of F&B systems and control procedures in all restaurant operations.
  • Assist in control of F&B, labor and operating expenses within the restaurant department.
  • Ensures all F&B operations meet sanitation and safety compliance for FOH.
  • Periodically checking TABC and Food Handler compliance.
  • Consistently offers professional, friendly and engaging service to guests and team members.
  • Table Touching to ensure complete Guest Satisfaction.
  • Effectively train FOH Team members in Open Table.
  • Assist as needed in other areas as requested by a manager.
  • Maintain uniform standards and a professional appearance for all Team Members.
