Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and insurable driving record
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and work independently while supporting a team environment
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and basic computer applications

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries, developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or related populations preferred
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead staff member during assigned shifts, providing direction, oversight, and support to Direct Care Staff
  • Train, coach, and mentor residential employees while reinforcing agency policies, procedures, and care standards
  • Monitor staff performance, service delivery, and documentation, providing real-time feedback and reporting concerns to management
  • Support person-centered care by assisting residents with daily living activities, skill development, and community engagement
  • Monitor resident health, safety, and well-being, responding to behavioral, medical, environmental, and crisis situations
  • Oversee medication administration processes, including inspections, documentation review, inventory monitoring, and compliance checks
  • Conduct routine audits of resident records, binders, and electronic systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate household operations including meal planning, activity scheduling, inventory management, and supply oversight
  • Perform routine environmental checks of rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs are addressed
  • Participate in on-call rotation and maintain timely, professional communication with staff, management, families, and external providers
