About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Residential Director to support the daily operations of our programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless coordination between clients, staff, and services by overseeing scheduling, managing appointments, and supporting program logistics. The ideal candidate is proactive, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing strong communication skills and a commitment to operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work, or other Human Services and minimum of four (4) years of experience in the human service field.
  • One (1) year of supervisory and administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of PA State 6100 and 6400 regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to move about COMHAR service areas throughout the day to provide appropriate oversight and coordination and meet job duties as needed and required.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and oversees implementation of program budget ensuring that operations occur within budgetary limits.
  • Partners with Human Resources and Director of Compliance and Program Development to develop and implement Policies and Procedures to maintain compliance with all regulatory bodies, including internal policies within COMHAR.
  • Develops working knowledge of PA State 6100 and 6400 regulations.
  • Supervise and support Residential Program Specialists.
  • Establishes working relationships with the Office of Developmental Programs, County Offices, Support Coordination Agencies, and related external service providers, either directly, or through delegation.
  • Provides oversight for all residential components of ID Residential, including all employees and individuals in residence.
  • In partnership with Human Resources, recruits potential candidates for employment and always ensures adequate coverage by qualified staff.
  • Manage oversight of Residential onboarding and annual training.
  • Develop and implement a New Hire Orientation experience that adequately prepares team members for their roles in the residential system, including training and knowledge/skills evaluations.
  • Support the employee engagement process during employees’ initial 90-days of employment.
  • Partner with program’s administrative and leadership teams to develop and implement an employee engagement process for newly hired employees.
  • Partner with HR in development and administration of annual employee satisfaction survey.
  • Partner with COMHAR Maintenance Department to ensure that all residences meet regulatory expectations and are always license-ready.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate employee time approval process.
  • Ensures that detailed daily notes are completed for each individual across all shifts.
  • Responsible for the implementation of Behavior Support Plans.
  • Provides oversight for the admission screening and negotiations regarding referrals, transfers, and discharges, including maintaining the program census.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for all participants and employees.
  • Ensuring completion of all required inspections, fire drills, and observance of safety standards.
  • Completes annual performance evaluations for employees.
  • Seeks additional internal and external training resources when necessary.
  • Partners with Director of Resource Coordination to ensure that regulatory and organizational training requirements are satisfied.
