About The Position

The Assistant Resident Manager's primary function is to act as a link between Management and Resident Assistants of Scott Residence Hall, Scott Village, Scott Court, and Scott Crossing. As well as implement policies, procedures, and regulations. In addition, the Assistant Resident Manager provides support for RAs when dealing with residents as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have experience with a live-in Residential Life Program.
  • Familiarity with student supervision and student conduct violations preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to function effectively in emergencies and crises interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Co-Supervising the Resident Assistant staff. Including the scheduling, staff meetings, training/ orientation and any possible issues that arise.
  • Handle walk-in resident/RA problems.
  • Maintain confidentiality, team spirit, professionalism, customer service and high-quality standards at all times.
  • Assist in organizing and create developmental activities for the Res. Life Staff.
  • Assist in preparation Annual Res. Life Report.
  • Coordinate and handle property events / problems and make referrals to UNO and management as needed in regards to discipline.
  • Cover shifts as needed.
  • Meet with residents to discuss roommate concerns, substance abuse issues, and other personal and conduct concerns.
  • Act as a referral agent to other University resources
  • Respond to crisis situations and offer immediate support and resources to those involved as well as notifying the appropriate parties within Scott Campus Housing and University Housing
  • Be accessible and visible in the Housing Community for student interaction at all times
