About The Position

Realstar is seeking a two-person Assistant Resident Manager Team to live and work at one of their properties. This position requires the team to live on-site, share an apartment, and work up to 24 hours per week. This is an offer for an existing vacant position within the organization. Realstar is a fully integrated management firm with 50 years of experience, managing over 22,000 rental apartments across Canada with an asset value exceeding $5 billion. They are part of Realstar Group, which manages over $9 billion in multi-family, hospitality, and alternative real estate assets.

Requirements

  • Previous or similar property management experience an asset.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to perform general cleaning duties and minor maintenance repairs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push and move objects exceeding 50 lbs. (e.g., garbage bins, appliances).
  • Fluent in English and French (applicable to Quebec only).

Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Promote a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and a "can-do" attitude.
  • Attend to resident concerns and service requests within 24 hours.
  • Follow up with residents to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Handle office administrative tasks, such as processing online applications, creating notices, managing lease renewals, and other duties related to supporting daily operations.
  • Organize, promote, and execute resident events (e.g., holiday parties & summer barbeques).
  • Maintain cleanliness of all common areas including foyers, amenity rooms, underground parking garage, locker rooms, patios, and rooftops.
  • Knowledge and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Perform thorough cleaning of vacant units, including appliances, floors, walls, windows, kitchens, washrooms, and balconies, ensuring they are move-in ready.
  • Dust fire hose cabinets, bells, and elevator tracks to minimize excess debris.
  • Monitor and clean garbage chutes, garbage, and recycling rooms.
  • Collection of garbage and recycling bins in coordination with the city waste schedule.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the safe handling of cleaning materials (WHMIS).
  • Conduct yard maintenance, including picking up loose garbage around the exterior of the property, removing snow and ice, and salting entrances, walkways, and rooftop walkways.
  • Assist residents in completing maintenance requests through the proper channels.
  • Daily walkthroughs of each floor, stairwell, and common areas fixing minor deficiencies.
  • Report serious deficiencies related to curb appeal or safety hazards to the direct supervisor for further action.
  • Assist the supervisor in HVAC monitoring, troubleshooting minor electrical, plumbing, boiler & chiller maintenance.
  • Assist the supervisor with scheduling and overseeing repair activities of tradesmen and contractors as required.
