About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York is seeking an Assistant Residence Manager to join their team. This role involves assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of residence programs for adults with developmental disabilities, including those with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. The Assistant Residence Manager will oversee these individuals, partnering with them to facilitate daily care, enhance personal development, foster self-esteem, and help them meet or exceed their individualized goals. The position is based in supportive apartments located in Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, and Rhinebeck, NY. Requirements

  • HS diploma/GED with one year of related experience.
  • Valid NY Drivers License.
  • Flexibility, patience, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor.
  • Strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
  • Pre-employment physical required.
  • Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping, bending & standing required.
  • Frequent planned, outside activities causing exposure to sunlight and heat.
  • Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes.
  • Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.
  • Good manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree or Associates degree with one (1) year of related experience preferred.
