About The Position

The Assistant Residence Manager is responsible for assisting the Residence Manager in supervising and coordinating the operations of the Residence. This role ensures the safety and well-being of individuals supported, maintains compliance with regulations, and supports direct care staff. The position involves administrative tasks, staff supervision, and participation in training and meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Two years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Represent yourself and the Agency in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Know, understand, and continually practice the Agency’s Standards of Conduct.
  • Must be able to use a computer and learn software programs.
  • Required to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language.
  • Must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be willing to drive agency vehicles.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals being supported at the highest level possible.
  • Assure compliance with 624 regulations and adhere to Abbott House policy and procedures for incident reporting.
  • Coordinate medical appointments and post them on the medical calendar.
  • Review and sign off on all medical consults.
  • Complete bi-weekly medication/medical supply inventory checks.
  • Review all MAR’s to monitor for medication administration compliance, MD orders, and monthly blood pressure checks.
  • Supervise direct support staff regarding data collection, active treatment, and compliance with Abbott House’s policy and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for the individuals being supported in the absence of the Residence Manager.
  • Assist with the evaluation of staff performance at the direction of the Residence Manager.
  • In the absence of the Residence Manager, review timesheets for accuracy and forward them to the Unit Administrator along with budget tracking sheets and per diem sheets.
  • Assist in coordinating consumer financial expenses, including clothing allowance, personal allowance, and the household budget.
  • Assist the Residence Manager in conducting staff and resident meetings.
  • Prepare written reports as requested.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Assist in the training of Direct Support staff as required by supervisors.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean physical environment and perform related work as required.
  • Participate in in-service training modules as scheduled.
  • Assure community inclusion and that recreational activities are scheduled and implemented.
  • Perform all necessary activities assigned to further the agency’s mission.
