About The Position

Devereux Connecticut is seeking an Assistant Residence Manager to join their team. This role supports a short-term residential program for children and adolescents, ages 8 to 21, with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program focuses on stabilization, assessment, and transition planning, with professional staff collaborating with individuals, families, and service partners to facilitate successful reintegration into their homes, schools, and communities. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in program management and supervision.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Have a valid CT Drivers License.
  • Be flexible, patient, energetic, and creative.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher degree (BS/BA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the daily operation of the assigned residence and function as shift leader in the absence of the RM.
  • Assist in the planning and carry out of ISP/IPP Plans.
  • Maintain medication certification and will dispense medication as assigned.
  • Ensures all required documentation is completed, which includes, but is not limited to, daily logs, MyAvatar, staff communication logs, data collection, bed checks.
  • Responsible for resident clothing and property inventories.
  • Complete client/house money ledgers as spending occurs in conjunction with the RM.
  • Complete wage spreadsheet and banking as pay checks are received in conjunction with the RM.
  • Supervise and assist with house meals.
