Devereux Connecticut is proud to offer residential, day and transitional programs and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our services are designed in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and emphasize person‑centered planning, stability and community integration. Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Have a valid CT Drivers License.
  • Be flexible, patient, energetic, and creative.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or assist with up to 70 pounds as needed
  • Ability to assist with emergency responses, including evacuations or crisis situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher degree (BS/BA) preferred.
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the daily operation of the assigned residence and function as shift leader in the absence of the RM.
  • Assist in the planning and carry out of ISP/IPP Plans.
  • Maintain mandated CT DDS medication certification and will dispense medication as assigned.
  • Ensures all required documentation is completed, which includes, but is not limited to, daily logs, MyAvatar, staff communication logs, data collection, bed checks.
  • Responsible for student / resident clothing and property inventories.
  • Complete client/house money ledgers as spending occurs in conjunction with the RM.
  • Complete wage spreadsheet and banking as pay checks are received in conjunction with the RM.
  • Supervise and assist with house meals.
