About The Position

To ensure that the house is operated in response to each consumer’s benefit and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations.
  • Familiarity with Justice Center requirements
  • Ability to handle emergencies in a professional manner.
  • Has a good attitude/team spirit.
  • A good role model for consumers.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Demonstrates respect for the people supported.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work as a team with co-workers.
  • Demonstrates respect for supervisors and a willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • A clean and valid NYS driver’s license is preferred.
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities/traumatic brain injured preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care for the People Supported as needed and direct care responsibilities.
  • Supervision, scheduling for program support, and documentation of on-floor observations.
  • Administrative office duties as requested by the Manager and Program Coordinator.
  • Facilities Management, Physical Plant follow-up.
  • Community inclusion oversight and ensure the program is following 3 inclusions per week.
  • Develop activities in and outside of the house, maintain a monthly recreation calendar.
  • Ensure the people support diet and nutrition in all aspects, i.e., menu plans, weight records, etc.
  • Monitoring the people supported health and medical needs through contact with physicians, dentists, and other treatment personnel.
  • Ensures the people-supported program plans are followed.
  • Obtains and maintains AMAP/CPR/First Aid/SCIP-R certifications.
  • Provide direct care services as needed.
  • Accufund, upload receipts.
  • Assignment sheets, summary notes, and incident reports.
  • Payroll UKG overview.
  • Assume all managerial responsibilities in the absence of the residential manager.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating and in conjunction with director, terminating staff, disciplinary actions, and ED memo for the house.
  • Writes and conducts three-month performance review of new direct care staff and their formal written annual performance review.
  • Participate in the monthly staff meetings.
  • Meets regular with the clinical team to provide ongoing monitoring of progress of consumer programs and consumer progress.
  • Conducts orientation program for all new direct care staff.
  • Maintain fire book and vehicle log.
