The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Assistant Research Scientist I position in our neuroscience laboratory, in which rodent preparations are used to model mechanisms and treatment targets in mental illness. Circuit mechanisms of normal brain functions, and how experiences change them are a focus. The work focuses on neurobehavioral systems, using molecular genetic manipulations to probe neural cellular and circuit function and, ultimately behavior depending on demands of a given experiment. This research focuses on neurobehavioral systems, employing environmental and molecular/genetic manipulations to investigate neural cellular and circuit structure, function, and their impact on behavior.
